no good
I just read an article from Time magazine about how food, not exercising promotes weight loss. Someone somewhere had done tests showing that people that exercised were more likely to eat more than their usual diet. Another test showed that people that put in that hour or half hour of exercise a day were more likely to decrease their physical activity throughout the rest of the day i.e. taking elevators, taking cabs, sitting doing nothing, etc. The article also talked about how ones self control diminishes slightly after exercise making a trip to starbucks for a muffin much more probable. Overall i believe they were suggesting doing more small things like using the stairs or walking instead of taking a cab more condusive to weight loss rather than sporadic bursts of exercise. what about exercise increasing the rate of your metabolism and decreasing your appetite? what about muscle burning more calories than fat even in a resting state? The article suggesting not exercising if you want to lost weight. This is what TIME magazine is publishing. Just eat less, and you will lose weight. So now, exercise is out of the equation. It’s 2009, and global knowledge about diet and exercise is about 40 years in. you can’t have one without the other, no matter what. so exercise on a daily basis, and figure out how much you need to eat in order for your body to replenish it’s systems with enough nutrients. eating smaller meals more frequently will increase the rate of your metabolism because your body won’t feel the need to store anything. Also getting fiber in there helps to control the rate at which your body turns food into sugar thereby decreasing the amount of times your insulin spikes because of a sugar rush. Then exercise more. and fuck TIME magazine.
